Sex-y time..
Lately I've been getting rather angsty about my lack of "smoochies" (as demonstrated from the slightly pathetic “A Love Song (or Blog) for No One” entry from not long ago). I’m not really sure what exactly triggered this funk but it has not been a very pleasant time in the life of Em and her constant worrying. My dad’s constant questioning of my lack of boyfriendom hasn’t helped.
Thankfully, as of today things are starting to change. With the help of this quote from ever-trusty Miss Carrie Bradshaw, I have started realize what an idiot I’ve been for the last little while. I found this beautiful little statement thanks to EW.com’s list of Endlessly Quotable TV Quips. As soon as I finished the final word, I couldn’t help but wonder: what the hell have I been doing with my life?
If I was legal I’d tell you to lift up your cosmo and make a toast to a new stage and a new way of thinking. Unfortunately, I’m not. But that doesn’t matter. What matters is right now cause that’s what I’m focusing on from here on out. No more obsessing about boys and my lack of them. No feeling sorry for myself. Just positive and thankful thoughts about the future. And if you don’t like that you’re going to have to take that up with Carrie and her Manulos. And if I recall correctly, nothing comes between those two.
So here’s goodbye to the old pitiful version of myelf and hello to the new and improved happy me. I think we’re going to be great friends.
P.S. – Okay so I lied I’m totally going to obsess about boys – just not real ones. I’ll keep my celeb boy toys. Christian, Emile, Michael, Jake, David, Johnny, Kevin, James, Joe and Zac, I’m talking to you! (And that’s just part of the list.. J)
My boys never fail me. Some people might say that’s because they’re not technically my boys at all. In fact, I don’t even know them. But that’s why I love them. They’re just fantasies and they’re fabulous.
P.P.S - Fun fact! Le photo de moi from above is from our mini-SATC movie soiree. Oh, the connections!
